Education & Training

The primary Industries Skills Council Inc is the principal body dealing with all education & training matters for the seafood industry.

A number of registered training organisations provide accredited training courses to industry personnel and those wishing to join the industry. These courses range from short introductory courses in such areas as fish filleting, emergency procedures and occupational health and safety through to full certificate and diploma courses.

Certificate and diploma courses are available in the following streams:

  • Aquaculture
  • Fishing Operations
  • Fishing Charter Operations
  • Fisheries Compliance
  • Seafood Processing
  • Seafood sales and Distribution

In addition, the industry’s training providers offer a range of tailored programs and short courses in all sectors of the industry.
